I mean, imagine you got into a rough situation with someone, and you log into your WhatsApp, and then they’ve posted a video or a text on their status. Naturally, you’d just want to see what it is. It might be an Ex Girlfriend or someone you just don’t talk to a lot.
And, you want to view their WhatsApp status quickly without them knowing you actually saw it. Well, I got you! I have different methods you can hide view status on WhatsApp if you use an Android device. But, if you use an iOS device, there is only one method you can use to pull this off.
So, firstly, we’ll take a look at the two methods you can use to hide the view status feature on Android devices, and then after that, we’ll check out how you can also hide the view status feature for those that use iPhones.
How To Hide View Status on WhatsApp on Android Devices: Method 1
To do this;
- Update your WhatsApp application to the latest version on the Google Playstore
- Install the updated application and open it
- Click on the three-dots icon on the top-right corner of your screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Click on “Account”
- Tap on “Privacy”
- Scroll down until you get to “Read Receipts”
- Click on the toggle bar and switch off the “Read Receipts” feature. Doing this will prevent everyone from knowing if you’ve viewed their status. But, the disadvantage of this method is that you also will not be able to view who viewed your Status updates if you upload one.
How To Hide View Status on WhatsApp on Android Devices: Method 2
Now, we’ll be taking a look at the second method to Hide view status on WhatsApp if you use an Android device. The advantage of using this method is that it eliminates the disadvantage of the first method.
When you use this method, you will be able to hide the fact that you have viewed a person’s status update, and whenever you post any status updates, you will still be able to see every single person that viewed your status update.
But, this has kind of a disadvantage too. I mean, it’s technically not a disadvantage, it is just the fact that you won’t be using the original WhatsApp application available on the Google PlayStore. For this method, you’ll be downloading a modded WhatsApp application.
Modded WhatsApp applications are basically just WhatsApp but with lots of exceptional features that you will not see on the original application, and one of these features includes the ability to check a person’s WhatsApp status without them knowing about it.
To use this method, follow the steps below;
- Uninstall your WhatsApp application
- Download FOUAD WhatsApp’s latest version HERE or HERE;
- Install the FOUAD WhatsApp application
- Open the application and sign into your account
- Now, click on the three-lines icon in the top-right corner of your screen
- Click on “FMMods”
- Click on “Privacy and Security”
- You’ll see a toggle bar that says “Hide View Status.” Toggle on the option.
- Now, go back to your chats screen, and click on the three-line icon again
- Click on “Restart WhatsApp.” Now, after your WhatsApp has been restarted, you can now check other people’s WhatsApp statuses without them knowing you did. Neat right?
How To Hide View Status on WhatsApp on iPhones
Like I mentioned before, you can only use one method to view a person’s WhatsApp status without them knowing about it if you use an iPhone. And this is the normal method on the original WhatsApp application since modded WhatsApp applications cannot be installed on iPhones.
To do this;
- Update your WhatsApp application to the latest version on the Apple AppStore
- Install the updated application and open it
- Click on the three-dots icon on the top-right corner of your screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Click on “Account”
- Tap on “Privacy”
- Scroll down until you get to “Read Receipts”
- Click on the toggle bar and switch off the “Read Receipts” feature. Doing this will prevent everyone from knowing if you’ve viewed their status. But, the disadvantage of this method is that you also will not be able to view who viewed your Status updates if you upload one.
